Welcome

This is the chronicle of our journey through the 21st century and our exploration and implementation of a greener lifestyle for our family. We are a family of four humans in suburban St Louis, Missouri, USA. We have always been Earth-conscious but have become even more aware recently of all of the things we can be doing to not only leave a smaller carbon footprint behind but to also increase our sustainable use of our land and resources to work and live in harmony with the earth and so have decided to embark on this journey to change our lives in many of those ways.

The Oak Plot

The original plot

With the beds in place

After the first round of dirt.

After tamping and more dirt.
We are going to plant peppers and peas in bed 3, corn & squash & beans(3sisters style) & cucumbers in bed 4 and corn & squash & melons & zucchini in bed 5.  These beds have not been planted but will be next..once it stops raining again!  We are staggering planting 4 &5 though, so as to give 4 more sun and growth before there is height in bed 5!
